I delved pretty late into the world of lipsticks but surprisingly garnered momentum soon. Glosses are now a passe for me and lipsticks have conquered my heart and found their way into my vanity case.
I have lipsticks spanning across many brands, but this post would feature my Top 5 MAC lipsticks.
I am a woman of colour, precisely NC 42 but these shades would flatter anyone between 40-45, though most of them are universally flattering . I have categorized my top 5 into reds, nude, pink and bold.
MAC Ruby Woo(Retro Matte)
I have dedicated an entire post for this lipstick. No points for guessing it right . It is the MAC RubyWoo. This shade is universally flattering and compliments almost anyone and for any occasion.
MAC Hot Tahiti (Glaze)
This shade is a subtle red which can be worn almost daily. This is indeed my favourite everyday lipstick.
MAC Creme in your Coffee (Cremesheen)
I agree that picking a nude for a woman of colour not making you washed out is a EUREKA moment. And my moment was when I swatched creme in your coffee. For me this is the perfect shade of nude with a pink undertone and brings an appropriate colour to my face. My lips but better shade.
MAC Girl About Town (Cremesheen)
It is like an instant pop of colour to the lips and it compliments my skin tone like a dream. Being part of cremesheen range it glides on smoothly. Since it has a blue undertone to it, it can suit women with lighter as well as deeper skin tones.
MAC DIVA (Matte)
With the holiday and fall season, rocking the bold lip is a tad bit easy. This deep red and marsala shade is most appropriate for the party circuit and looks effortlessly chic.
These were my top 5 MAC lipsticks for women of colour. I personally feel that if you are confident of donning a particular shade, go out and make it work for YOU.
