After procrastinating for over two weeks in anticipation of winters to hit Delhi in its full swing, my post finally goes live along with the dip in the temperature 🙂

The best thing about winter fashion is the fact that it is effortless, and for the same reason, chances of a faux-pas are very bleak. Just a few staples and you are good to brace the winters like a Diva. Invest in these pieces as most of them never really go out of fashion.

In this post, I shall aim to create a winter ensemble with a few fashion essentials to unleash the fashionista in you.

Coats
Chesterfield, Trench or Pea, winter coats are available in a wide variety of unique styles. Layer them over your outfits to create the perfect fashion statement while keeping yourself warm and comfortable. My personal favourite has to be a black double breasted coat with no horizontal seam which can be paired with almost any outfit to look your stylish best:)

Structured Blazers

A tailored blazer has the power to make or a break an outfit. Owning a fitted blazer in solid hues are the safest bet to look chic and classy, effortlessly. Move over the black blazers, and opt for ones in solid colours to create  a unique fashion statement. Create a perfect fashion ensemble by pairing them over a cardigan for a formal look and alternate it over a maxi dress for a casual outing.

Sweater Dress

Take a jump ahead of the fashion curve by wearing a sweater dress this winter.  I am a little partial towards them as they are uber chic along with keeping you warm. Style them with stockings and up your fashion quotient several notches higher. Wear a sweater dress with a statement neck piece or an infinity scarf to look your fashionable best.

Knit Sweaters

Sweaters or cardigans, come in myriad shades making us spoilt for choice. Pick a few of them in basic colours and your wardrobe is equipped with the basics of winter. Pair them over trousers, jeans , skirts and along with coats and blazers. I love pairing a sweater over a dress to create a unique style statement.

Stockings

For winters, keep your stockings opaque and opt for ones with fleece lining. They not only make an outfit look great but also keeps you warm for the winter months. Pair them with your dresses or even your mini skirts and make your summer wardrobe winter appropriate.

Boots

Keep your feet warm in boots which come in different styles. Take your pick from the ankle, knee-high or gumboots in different colours to seal any winter ensemble.

Scarves

A Scarf is the most humble fashion accessory which not only keeps you warm but is overwhelmingly stylish. Pick scarves from different styles found in solid or printed hues Read more on scarves here

Invest in these essentials and stay forward on the fashion bandwagon at all times !!!

Especially with coats. The really great ones you don’t even want to remove indoors. One of my stylist friends convinced me to wear a light cream coat this winter. I am accustomed to wearing darker colours but she is right. I love it. xo
