Summer Skincare Essentials

The sun is glistening in all its glory and the scorching heat shows absolutely no mercy. Quiet literally. Summers are here in Delhi in all its grandeur.

So this is the perfect time to have a post on my summer skincare essentials. But before these I have certain presrequisites or necesities for summer. Just like you need food to survive, your skin needs these in summer. So you have no choice here.

Water – Do I even need to elaborate on that

Sunscreen – preferably with an SPF 30

Excercise- Flush those toxins out….flush it out!!!!

Now lets delve straight to my Summer Skincare favourites.

Rose Water

Rose Water is my summer staple. Spritzing it over tired skin is a quick fix to beat the heat. Carry rose water either in the form of facial mists or use them in its natural form.

I love using the Kama Ayurveda pure rose water which comes in a spray bottle . I keep it refrigerated at all times and spray it over my face once I am back from the scorching heat.

Face Masks

In summers our skin become the breeding ground for dust and grime.  Salon visits are beneficial but a little bit of pampering at home is a bonus. Pick a mask of your choice or make one of the kitchen.

I love using this ubtan ( a mix of natural ingredients) from forest Essentials which is so refreshing and smells divine. Double whammy!!

Price- INR595

I also like to tone my face with a concoction of 2 parts of water and 1 part of Apple Cider Vinegar. Perfect to maintain a summer appropriate skin.

Scrub

A little bit of exfoliation goes a long way. A good scrub helps in removing all the dead skin and keeps tan at bay.I love using grounded coffee as a scrub, it works beautifully. But only on days when I am less lazy.

The Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Scrub is one of my favourites and I use it twice a week.

Night Creams/ Serums

Our skin repairs itself at night and we should prepare enough to make it most condusive for the process. Firstly, I would want to debunk a myth that oils are not beneficial for people with oily skin. Some sort of oil is essential for skin to be soft and supple. If it is a night cream, it is intended to provide intense nourishment.

The Body Shop Oils of Life oil is great as a serum and is light weighted. I also love using the Kama Ayurveda Rejuvenating Night Cream for intense moisturisation.

Mousturizer

Moisturizers are not just for the winter months. You need them all year long. Daily moisturization should be an integral part of the drill every morning.

My current favourite has to be Palmers Cocoa Butter. Its blissfull when your moisturizer smells of chocolate.

Price- INR200
Lip Balm & Fragrance

To keep chapped lips at bay all times, you need a good lip butter or a lip conditioner rather. I love using The BodyShop Hemp Lip Conditioner which has now turned into my holy grail lip balm.

Finally, in summers you need to tame those sweat glands. Carry body mists in your bag for smelling fresh all day. Currently, I am obsessing over this fragrance from The BodyShop.

Lip Balm -INR375

Perfume- INR895

So this summer stay protected from the heat and keep glowing.

Until next time,

Stay Stylish, Stay YOU

Love

Jovita

    1. Hey babe… Nice to see you here. I suggest you do a patch test and go with minimum ACV . That shall help to gauge your skin sensitivity towards ACV. Hope that helps😊😊😊
