As a teenager, I remember myself steering away from bright hues. The reds and the pinks never really caught my fancy. And I hated whites. For the longest time, it reminded me of my school uniform. I would see myself naturally gravitating towards the muted monochramatics. My world was pretty much black & blue and sometimes grey. Now when I look back, it seems a tad dull(honest confession there)
However, from the last few years, I observe an inclination towards colours. I seem to have embraced the reds and pinks pretty efforlessly and there is a magical affinity towards yellow. If I can clearly remember, maybe a decade ago, I detested the colour yellow religously owing to its luminosity and the fact that it was immediately recognizable. I somehow felt that it clashed with my skin tone. But let bygones be bygones. Today, I have more than a few pieces of this summery hue in different variants in my closet and I couldn’t be happier.
I strongly believe that all the choices we make in our life, in every aspect is a direct reflection of our state of mind. Over the last couple of years , I have seen myself evolve as a professional, as a blogger , as an individual. Rather than sticking to what I thought was my niche, now I dare to explore and experiment. Adding colours to my wardrobe have in some way contributed to a new lease in my life. Pretty philosophical there !!!
The year 2018 see’s a revival of this summery shade with so many renditions to offer. The colour of danger, that was once believed to wash out your skin, has now reincarnated to suit every skin tone. The focus of 2018 yellow is less highlighter and more towards pastel yellows and the mustards. So for all those who still haven’t warmed up to this colour, try to give it a shot and I am sure you won’t be dissappointed.
I shall feature 2 of my current favourite pieces in this post.
Mustard Suede Dress with Marsala heels
Yellow top with button detailing and gingham high waisted pants
