7 days of blogging- The Obi Belt

Good Evening everyone !

I am on this page literally after 1.5 months and couldnt be more ashamed of my procrastination drive that had me in its grip. Last week, I happened to come across a post from my fellow blogger and she was planning to do a ’30 days of blogging’ series. This definitely aroused interest in my otherwise lethargic mind (my current state these days) and I decided to take up something on the same lines.

30 days of blogging would still be a distant dream for me but for starters, I have decided to take up 7 days of blogging. I need this push to revive my passion and to be motivated enough.

So lets begin this series with a statement accessory. I have actually being eyeing an obi belt in my closet for the longest time. I am a sucker for accessories that have an identify of their own and lifts an outfit effortlessly. However, I had my fair share of doubts on whether it would do justice to my frame. When you are all of just 5 inch you can’t dare to cut that even further. But my fashion choices have always been experimental so I decided to finally own one and try it for myself.

Minimalistic belts have never really fascinated me and I see myself gravitating naturally towards wider belts that add a certain structure to the outfit. When I spotted an obi belt on discount at one of my favorite online destinations, I knew it was time to strike this one off my wish list. So now I call myself a proud owner of a deep rich burgundy shade obi belt.

Obi Belts became a huge trend through all seasons of 2015 and since then you could spot them on-off on runways and the streets. It definitely is not one of the trends this season but I still picked it up since I had a lost longing for this piece of accessory. When it came to styling it, I chose to keep it rather safe and allowed the belt to be the focal point of the ensemble. I paired the burgundy obi with a plain black zipped maxi dress with long sleeves. The simplicity of the black dress resonated the luscious shade and make of the belt.

I would consider this as a tad safe option of pairing the belt and would love to try this with maybe a pink pleated skirt and a muted top. Let’s see when I get to do that but for now have a great evening and I see you guys tomorrow!!!
